Carefully folding scarves before putting them away teaches respect for our materials and encourages care in every action. In SECE, these small, intentional routines build mindfulness, responsibility, and a sense of order - helping children internalize that how we treat our things reflects how we value the learning process.

Suzuki Early Childhood (SECE) is a music class for babies and toddlers, rooted in the idea that every child can learn. We sing beautiful songs, recite nursery rhymes, play real instruments, and engage in intentional movement and listening activities, all within a dynamic, repeating curriculum designed to support deep, layered learning. The environment is warm and structured, supporting exploration, connection, and early musical development. Each component is thoughtfully designed to engage children at every stage, from babies to older toddlers. It’s a beautiful way to bond with your child while laying the foundation for lifelong learning.

Ms. Wendy is on the faculty of Suzuki Stumptown and has completed Suzuki Early Childhood Education Stage 1 training, so she sometimes co-teaches the SECE class.

Classes are held Saturday mornings at 9:30 am at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 1624 NE Hancock St, Portland, OR 97212.
